Default Alarm Company Recommendations?

I'm looking into alarm companies for a small food business in downtown. There's so many out there and little to distinguish them. Does anybody have any recommendations?

Can I ask why an alarm system? It doesn't seem like it would really protect anything, just inform you sooner after something happens.

Even the "two way voice communication" one on the radio might get the police out faster but would it be fast enough to stop a thief or catch them?

Monitored smoke detection is probably the biggest possible thing they can do for you. Otherwise you're right, it's peace of mind. I have one and was going to drop the monitoring, except for the fact I like the idea of the fire department coming out if my house starts on fire while I'm gone, especially with a pet at home.

I went with SecureTek because they are cheap. I think I pay about $20 a month now that the equipment is paid for. It's not fancy, but it works. Some places have fancier interfaces but are all-in-one units, so someone can just rip it off the wall and smash it and you are done. I like systems with a separate control unit hidden in the basement so if the panel is smashed it still calls out.

I can highly recommend Dave from 3D Security. He's knowledgable, professional and does great work. He's one of those guys who just knows what he is doing. Known him for over 20 years and he just finished my house.

Pricing is excellent. You end up buying the equipment and then paying approx $100 a year monitoring.
