I'm also curious, I'd be using my XboxOne/360. I'm fed up with Centre Ice.

i usually watch it on my ipad/laptop/imac, and it's great quality. I tried using xbox360 to watch on my tv, but i found it a bit choppy on quick moving cameras views.

there are blackouts.... I used a $3/month site to change my IP to look like it's from the US, allowing me to watch all games (also gets you the american netflix, pandora, etc)...
I'm waiting to hear how rogers is going to broadcast games to determine if GCL is going to be needed this season.

Why would it be better than Centre Ice?

Center Ice here doesn't cover all games due to blackouts and all the (formerly) Versus games being part of a more expensive cable package. I'm switching too, very fed up with Center Ice.

Works best on a computer or mobile device but when you hook it up to a TV it is terrible. Personally I'd go with centre ice if you plan on watching on TV.

I used to order Center Ice in Van area and twice got screwed out of the service after a couple months. First time was a divorce and the second time I was sent out of town to work. There is no way to transfer the service (first time the cable was in her name and second time was a cancel of service for lengthy out of town work) and there was no refund. This was through Shaw both times. Since then I have ordered Game Center and it is awesome. The quality is great even if I plug my laptop into my tv with HDMI. And also as a HUGE bonus .. I can travel and log in from anywhere! As has been said the blackout can be averted by paying a few dollars a month. I haven't done that as living in Van I get the majority of the games without hassle.
I am waiting to see what happens this season but will most likely order it again. Can't beat it.
Also I forgot to mention, I can watch on my ipad or my phone with the app when I log in .. pretty awesome if you ask me!

I use center ice on the following Devices:
PS3
Roku
Nexus 7
Moto G
Computer
On the PS3 and the Roku the quality is near broadcast quality and has been improving every year (this will be my 4th year of having the service this year).
I have a fiber internet connection to my house if it makes any difference.

I watch it on my apple TV. The quality is fine. Most of the time it is close to HD tv quality but at times it will downgrade to lower/choppy.
There is a one/two minute delay versus the TV feed so you have to watch where you follow along with online (i.e. game threads/twitter).

I use it over here, watch exclusively on a computer, and absolutely love it. The quality is usually excellent.
The only problem is that with time zones, I pretty much have to avoid the internet all day long in order not to have the score spoiled for me.

I'm in Vancouver, and I've been using GC for 2 years now. I really really like it. Keep in mind a few limitations though - it doesn't include playoffs, and if the game is playing on a national stream it will be blacked out unless you use a proxy service.
I've streamed on my TV, but usually I am just watching it on my cell phone (android or iPhone - either works great) or iPad. It's nice to find a shaw hotspot in town and watch from wherever. I don't think I'd stream over my cell plan as I only have 500MB of data.

Game centre is a great option if you live outside of Canada/US as you have no blackout issues at all. Quality is as good as your ISP will allow. I particularly like how you have the choice of either team's feed for each game.

Any info on early bird discount? And what's this about no playoffs? Is that for real?

Xbox 360 is great. No longer need an xbox live account to access. Full1080 and full refresh rate your TV can use. Mines a 240mhz refresh as its 3d so it does depend what your TV is capable of. Rule of thumb 120mhz refresh rate to take advantage of live sports in HD.
If you live in Calgary ALL home games will Blacked out. Unless you spend 5 bucks a monthfor a DNS service (completely worth It). Set it to the USA and even Hockey Night in canada shows up in home feed.
If your outside Alberta then the only games that are blacked out are National Broadcasts.
Added bonus digital DVR. As long as the game is not over before you start watching It will automatically start from the beginning. If its over you have to wait a few hours . they say 24 he's but I never had to wait longer than 1-2 hours. This feature is NOT on the mobile app tho. On the mobile app there is not a waiting period longer than a half an hour wait to access the replay.
You won't regret it

Also if anyone wants to split game centre, let me know I'd be down. I know sharing is no problem.

Free illegal streams on the internet or get GC and an IP tool that will mask your location
