Sweet summer night and I'm stripped to my sheets
Forehead is leaking, my AC squeaks and
A voice from the clock says, "You're not gonna get tired"
My bed is a pool and the walls are on fire
Soak my head in the sink for a while
Chills on my neck and it makes me smile but
My bones have to move and my skin's gotta breathe
You pick up the phone and I'm so relieved
You slide down your stairs to the heated street
And the sun has left us with slippery feet
And I want to walk around with you
And I want to walk around with you
And be here with you, we're goin'
Drowning here in summers cauldron under mats of flower lava
Please dont pull me out, this is how I would want to go
Breathing in the boiling butter, fruit of sweating golden Inca
Please dont heed my shout, Im relaxing the undertow
It hasn't been below 80 (27 celsius) degrees down here for at least 2 months, even at night. Talk to me when you've been in this heat for awhile.
You live in the land of AC, I'd wager the majority of people here don't have central air. My house was 27 last night at 11pm. Its been a great summer weather wise, just wish it would cool off quicker at night.
Quiet all of you, Iceland has had one of its worst summers in 60 years, at night its a cool 5c but we are lucky to see 15c in the middle of Summer
Ontario is having a crappy one as well (after a terrible winter).
It just figures too. For the 4 years before this summer, I lived in a tiny upstairs condo with no AC and windows only on one side. All summer long, in was no cooler than 30C in there. I am sure I went weeks without getting more than a few hours of sleep a night.
This year I move into a well ventilated house with AC, and I haven't had to turn it on once (it still has the cover on it from winter). The frickin' furnace actually kicked in last night and it's August.

It's about time we got a decent summer here but it's not what I would call exactly hot. I was in the US for a few weeks were it was steady 36/37C and it really wasn't that bad overall. Most of us here simply aren't climatized for it but I find after a few weeks the body adjusts and it's very tolerable especially in Calgary where it actually cools off at nigh. If you don't have AC at least get a ceiling fan as that helps.
