What a couple of scumbags!
I wonder what sort of punishment will be doled out to these two A-holes if their caught?

If it's any consolation, now they can get a real dog.

I wonder if it wasn't more of a rescue than a theft... Those people were way too vested in that Maltese for anyone's good. #intervention
all kidding aside, I do hope they catch these ###### bags...

Am I missing something?
Someone being upset that a family pet was stolen is ridiculous? I'd be devastated if I had footage of someone stealing my dog(s).
I would probably have an easier time dealing with a pet dying than having footage of a scumbag taking them.
They may be a little over the top with their dog, but better that than an owner who doesn't care about their dog at all.

Agreed.
I like dogs more than most people and I'd be pretty sucky if our dogs were taken like that, but I'd sure as hell be pulling myself together before going in front of a camera for a TV interview though. I'm almost embarrassed for him.
Apparently the dog's been found alive and well but no news on the perps.

More in the 'attributing human emotional qualities to pets' type of ridiculous. Which we all do, but come on, it's a dog. It's not upset.
Someone on my Facebook made a post that they were getting a new puppy and the spirit of their old dog would be guiding them in raising their new pet.

Some tact.
You may have caught another thread where one of our long time avid posters just lost her pet. You may be so obtuse to have missed it, but she posted not three previous to this.
Show some compassion you clod.

You are assuming that he has the same emotional response and control as you do. I have found out that for me as an adult with ADHD that my response is like driving a Ferrari while for non ADHD people it is like driving a Prius by comparison.
I think I would possibly be too angry to cry but only so long as I stayed angry if someone stole my fuzzbuddy. The misses would cry.

One of our dogs was 1 year old when we got her. She was very stressed initially. She's a completely different dog than the one we brought home.
You clearly have no clue what you are talking about. Watch a video of a soldier coming home and the greeting he/she gets from their dog. There's tons on YouTube.
I don't know if upset is the right word but the dog can definitely suffer from anxiety and stress.
Also the guy should have pulled it together a little bit.

The dog has been reunited after being found. Sounds like the thieves felt the heat and dumped the dog somewhere to be found.

Look up some research on the positive effects of pets and the elderly. Many elderly people are very lonely and pets provide them with whatever it is a person needs to continue living.
Also consider that some people can't have kids and adoptions take 3-5 years. People will invest their love and emotion into pets in this case and the pets become part of the family. There is nothing wrong with people loving their pets and being upset when they are gone.
There are all sorts of reasons for this type of emotional attachment to another living being and there is nothing wrong with it, in fact I think if you are incapable of it or incapable of being accepting of it in others, you are likely the damaged one not them.
