geez, was just reading this as a rumor. Things move fast.

Makes sense. It can't be more than $2 million due to their cap issues and perceived Del Zotto personal issues.

Really surprised it took this long AND a emergency need to get Del Zotto signed.

I'll bet he goes all Mason Raymond this year.

Eklund had it first! But it was a flyers rumor so I suppose it's a default.

I like the move for the Flyers. Not much risk here. Their like 4 million above the cap now though.

I was really hoping the Oilers would sign him.

Not enough cap space once they add Schultz to the 6x6 club

I thought they have to get under before the season starts and then they can put them on LTIR.

Can go over by 10% in off season so they will be fine.

Have to wonder if there were other teams that were in on MDZ, maybe this signing spurs on other activity whether it be signings or trades. Probably best dman left off the market with McBain/Diaz out there though McBain rumoured to be off to Europe.

Great move! Very low risk for 1 year @ 1.3 mill he could have a nice bounce back year (offensively anyway) with this Flyers team. Could end up being a steal.

Well ya obviously since they are already 4 million over. From what I remember though they need to get below by the start of the season at which point they can place players on LTIR. I suppose they will either have to shed salary or stick some contracts in the AHL for a brief period if that is still allowed.

Pretty sure the LTIR kicks in right away so it won't matter. Also, you can't bury salary in the AHL anymore, at least not most of it anyway.
