2014 NBA Draft
Today is the beginning of the NBA Draft. Only 60 players will be picked in this draft and potentially there are 7 Canadians that will probably get picked.
http://www.tsn.ca/nba/story/?id=455725
Potential First Round are : Andrew Wiggins (Vaughan, ON) - Kansas, Michigan guard Nik Stauskas (Mississauga, ON) and Syracuse PG Tyler Ennis (Brampton, ON). Wiggins is a possible 1st pick, 2nd or even 3rd pick overall.
Other notable Canadians are Iowa State Melvin Ejim (Toronto,ON) and Khem Birch (Montreal), Stanford PF Dwight Powell (Toronto) and Calgarian Jordan Bachynski of Arizona State.
There is also a possibility that Indo-Canadian Sim Bhullar, 21 years old 7'5" and 355 lbs from Toronto, who recently graduated from New Mexico State will get pick as well. He is the tallest draft eligible player this year.
Cleveland Cavaliers will call the first pick overall at 5pm MST while the Toronto Raptors have the 20th pick. I am hoping for Tyler Ennis on that pick.
I think Cleveland will pick Andrew Wiggins then Jabari Parker will get pick next and the 3rd pick overall would be Joel Embiid.

Embiid is a risk with his injury, and you don't want to draft the Greg Oden to someone else's Kevin Durant...
Dante Exum is a shot to go #3. Philly want Wiggins, but I think Exum is the guy they grab assuming Wiggins and Parker go 1 and 2.

Embiid is a risk, and you might take Greg Oden 2.0....or you might pass on a guy compared to Hakeem and Tim Duncan. I also remember Blake Griffin missed his entire first season due to injury...he turned out ok. It's always going to be a risk. Embiid is easily the most talented guy in the draft though, so I don't see him falling outside the top 5.
I'm kinda meh towards Ennis. More of a pure point guard so that's nice, but not a big offensive threat which you really need in your point guard now to keep defenses honest. If they Raptors draft a PG, pretty good indicator they think Lowry is gone. Need another big man badly too.

Apparently they like Clint Capela. His DX video looked equal parts awesome and frustrating.
I'm hoping for Ennis, Bazz or Young. If any of them are even around still.
Hope Drake would chime in on the Raps drafting Ennis. Remember how clutch he was during the season. There was a stat where in 1 possession games with 1 minute left he was 4-4 FG. 2 Assists and no TO. Might not be exactly that but it was that insane.

Cleveland Canadians? First Thompson, then Bennett, now Wiggins. At least the national team should have some guys who have some experience playing together.

Embiid and Noel have to stay healthy. If they do, holy crap how do you score inside against Philly?

Utah is apparently going to take Exum. From Australia to Utah...brutal. Time to see if his threats to only play for the Lakers are legit.

Excited to see what team I will become a fan of when they draft Cleanthony Early!

I'm not a huge fan of Ennis as a pure distribution PG. The reason why those don't exist anymore isn't because they're hard to develop, but moreso because the position has evolved that you have to have a shot to keep teams honest while defending against you.

Adam Silver is doing pretty good as comish. Stern was a dick and highly unlike-able.

Not dammit. Like I said, a pure PG is an outdated commodity. Who else is out there now?

Napier would be fine. Not sure who else they can even take. Maybe trade back
