I agree. They probably attempted to find someone, but he probably was the weak link and didn't waive.

Probably $1.5-3.0 million on a 1 year show me contract. Same boat as Heatley and Malone IMO.

I'd be interested. He's a RW and he's better than Stempniak, so we could probably move him at the deadline.

Would love to have him as a Flame for a couple of years to help with the rebuild. Met him and Spezza at the Taz in '04 the night before we played them at home. Super down to earth - he had a few rounds of shots with us and wouldn't let us pay. We finally told him that we weren't going to drink the last round if he didn't let us get that one and he let up.

I think our common ground was how much we respectively hated the Leafs. Very cool guy, wish nothing but the best for him.
