Love the pick. Treliving just had to take whoever was left of the top 4. I think history will show that they got the best center between Bennett and Dr. Drai.

Needs to get bigger, I have hard time seeing him play more than a few games for the Flames next season.

Depends what happens during the rest of the summer...if Backlund is moved, I could see him coming in and playing sheltered/slightly sheltered minutes like Monahan. Also depends on what he can do this summer. He's 177lbs right now - can he get to 182? 185? Important summer.

If Backlund is here, I see 9 games then a gold medal with Canada.

What a safe pick for Treliving, no insult intended. I have no issues with this pick. Doubt anyone will. Still would of liked to get Ritchie but with a trade, not 4th overall. Glad they never traded up.

I want, demand to see this kid do a pull up at training camp lol.

Now for the rest of the draft lets go defense lol, BPA!

Don't think Bennett will play next year for the flames. Could he? Yes, needs a year or two to develop and get stronger. Man him on the farm with Gaudreau Poirier Klimchuk Granlund Sven Reinhardt etc, they will be lights out. Minor system is stacked at forward. High skilled forwards! So much fun it will be. Ortio in net? Awesome, yet we need d men now!

IMO best forward in the draft. This kid is no passenger and will do anything to help his team win. Very excited about what the Flames are building.

Don't mind him going down for one more year. Let's us see how good backlund can be.

Bennett, Monahan, and Backlund is going to be something to watch. I'll take that any day over "David Moss: 1st line center."

I'll be shocked if he plays more than a few games. Back to the OHL.

However, I won't be surprised if he does play a few games. A taste of the show so he knows what he needs to measure up to.

No reason to rush him, we're not going anywhere next season and he'd be better served playing another year of Junior and adding on some pounds.

Great pick though, this is an exciting time to be a Flames fan!

Those are three guys that will push play up the ice. You've got to love a setup like that.

He's the youngest of the three centres, age wise and physically so I think he'll probably go back to junior. Isn't really a spot for him right now either, so it should work out well. For a while I've thought he was our natural choice. We want a top centre and I wasn't really in love with the idea of bringing in the younger and seemingly better brother to compete with Max.

Looking forward to hopefully seeing a Klimchuk-Bennett combo at the WJC this Christmas.
