The more intersting section with rounds 1 through 6
Any bad picks?
I'm sure I'm going to hear about mistakes I've made

I believe in the Pony Power

"The next night, or so the story goes, Grimson crammed a broken hand into a hockey glove to suite up the next night, got into another spat with Brown, and then struggled to get his glove off when Brown caved in his face."
Was Brown also the guy that pinned Kyte on the ice and pummeled him?
When I was growing up there was no goon in the league that scared me more than Dave Brown. When I saw a Flame drop their gloves to dance with him - I was never excited - just frightened about what that nightmare might do to the Flame.

Unbelievable that in our history Jarrett Stoll is the second best player we've ever drafted in round 2...

Fixed!
Sorry guys had to fix up round 5 as I had the #2 and #1 from round 6 duplicated. Sorry about that.

#2 – Tony Lydman – A great draft pick and important part of the Flames 2nd pairing in the first part of this century though he got hurt and missed most of the playoff drive in 2004. Was dealt to Buffalo after four years with the Flames but played 847 NHL games to date. Solid 4th round pick.

Still don't understand this trade. One of Sutter's worst, and that's a tough list to top.

Yeah I think you're right.
Brown was a scary dude, had me so pumped when Grimson bested him in Edmonton ... then so disapointed to see him destroyed live a night later.

I can still see poor Stu's face swelling up in the penalty box. Brutal beating.

Small quibble, but I would rather Ranheim over Konroyd. He was more dynamic checking winger and quite the speedster from what I remember. Plus, played over 1000 games which, IMO, is still a big feat.

Will also be interesting to see how Tim Erixon’s career unfolds in Calgary.

Lots of other prospects got honourable mentions, I'd say Gaudreau deserves the same.

Yes, it was Dave Brown who did the number on Kyte. That marked the end of Kyte in Calgary.
During that timeframe, a lot of goons were brought in to one up the Oiler thugs. These were the secondary enforcers if you will. Shotgun to Hunter, Semenko, McSoreley etc. If you lost, you were moved along.
Calgary tried Keith Hanson, Kyte, Coxe, Korn, amongst others
Edmonton tried Cochrane, Van Dorp, Brubaker amongst others.

If you read the two parts, the criteria was 1 game. Many players got honourable mentions for just that.
Pretty safe to say that of all the players with under 100 games (and certainly among the 1 gamers) Gaudreau is the brightest light of the group.
