Why would people ditch TSN? Because of the Hockey deal?

I don't see what the NHL deal has to do with the CFL?

If anything, TSN will pump more resources into their CFL broadcast to make it even better.

Lewis better be a Stampeder to start the season.

Ted Laurent is a stud and a great move for the Esks to hang onto him. I thought I had heard he would give the NFL a look. But $100K for Hugh Charles, that is just downright laughable as he would be my 6/7th on my list of backs I would take in the league.

Quote:
BIG MONEY: The *Sun* has learned the Eskimos are intending to make a substantial offer of somewhere in the area of $100,000 to starting running back Hugh Charles, who is scheduled to become a free agent in February, along with an even bigger contract to non-import defensive tackle Ted Laurent, which they have been asked not to sign until after the expansion draft takes place Dec. 16. It's expected the Laurent deal would make him one of the top four or five highest paid Canadian players in the league.

Ottawa should go after QB Zach Collaros and Drew Willy. There are some few FA that they can try signing as well. From Montreal : LB Shea Emery, Kyrie Hebert, from Toronto Robert McCune, Johnson from Hamilton and even Lawrence. On offense: RB Will Ford(Wpg), WR Taj Smith(Sask), one of non-import Forzani, Parker or Arthur as WR from Calgary. They can also go after Inman(To), Price(Cgy), Koch(Edm), Moore(BC), and on OLine : Myddleton(BC), Jourdain(Mtl), Mitchell(Edm).. a lot of choose if those guys are willing to sign with them as FA.
It is going to be interesting to see who will get picked up on december 16th. I hope Stamps manage to re-sign Price and Parker. I heard that Mo Price might test the free agency unless Stamps gets to sign him before FA starts.

Good move, as sad as it might sound he likely is the best QB they have at the moment, he seems to just have that positive "winner" type of approach to anything he does in the game of football, and if the they showed him the money to get him to come to them that is a good sign for the organization.

What a great replacement for your DC, he is a way better DC than a HC.

When people start picking and choosing what channels they want I don't think TSN will be too high on peoples lists. I think the hockey deal will have a huge effect on TSN's bottom line

While I agree it will affect TSN's total viewership and their bottom line, I still think CFL ratings will remain unchanged. No one has any allegiances to specific sports channels, otherwise no one on this board would watch SportsNet.

It won't be long before guys like Cuthbert are moving to Sportsnet. That is how it will affect TSN

TSN should pay Sportsnet to take Rod Black from them. Really hope TSN keeps Cuthbert and Miller for football.

The 2013 Season All-Stars list was released today. The only surprise as far as I'm concerned is Larry Taylor as Special Teams Player

everyone on this board watches sportsnet because they have NHL/Flames hockey. TSN is going to lose subscribers and money I can guarantee it...both those things will have an impact on the CFL

Why are you surprised?

Larry Taylor (special teams): Taylor earns CFL all-star honours for the second time in his career — and for the first time as a Stampeder — after leading the CFL with 1,970 return yards in 2013. Taylor ranked first in the league with 615 punt-return yards and 228 missed-field goal return yards and second with 1,147 kickoff-return yards. He had three games with at least 100 kickoff-return yards — including a season high of 183 against Toronto on Sept. 21 — and 108 yards in punt returns against Hamilton on Sept. 13. Despite handling the ball 152 times in 2013, he did not have a single lost fumble.

I disagree. TSN is almost standard on every cable/satellite package. Granted there are very basic packages without TSN, but sports fans will more than likely purchase a sports bundle which should include TSN. I have Bell Satellite and have a fairly basic sports package which includes TSN and Sportsnet West. I don't think TSN will lose too many viewers and CFL numbers should remain the same, if not grow, due to TSN pumping more money into broadcasts. I can't recall where I heard it, but sometime during the Grey Cup the commish confirmed that there will be some improved changes to TSN's broadcasting of CFL games next year.

the whole bundle thing is likely changing soon, if that happens then the CFL is in trouble if you ask me
