Not much info yet.

Three people including a police officer have been injured in separate incidents of gunfire in Vancouver after a shooting a downtown coffee shop in an upscale district downtown.
Police responded to reports of shots fired at about 11 a.m. today and found a woman had been shot and seriously wounded outside a Starbucks in Yaletown, the Vancouver Sun reported.
Doesn't appear to be as back as Moncton.

Could also stem from Vancouver's gang problem.

With all the shootings going on this spring in NA, I think it's going to be a long hot and dangerous summer.

Not everywhere. Murder makes its summer home in Chicago.

Shooting victim is GlobalTV's John Daly's friend - bike store owner Paul Dragan. Someone had personal dispute with him.

Daughter of one of the main stars of Real Housewives of Vancouver was also shot yesterday in what appears to be gang-related activities.

Looks like ebb is turning into a flow Vancouver violence again.

I would like to point out that I am including the 2011 riots as being considered as gang violence. A bunch of blowhards all wearing the same colors creating problems qualifies in my books.

Nice try; 2 events which seem to have nothing to do with each other at all.

Today's shooting seems most likely to be a disgruntled ex employee of a bike shop. The shooting victim is the owner of the shop which is right across the street from the Starbucks the shooting happened at.

Shooter took off on the sea wall and ran into police by Science world where they exchanged fire and the suspect was arrested. Police officer also injured (reports are minor).

Also, the report in the OP that a female was shot today has now been proven false. It was a middle aged man who owns the bicycle shop.

That's not really how the gangs work there, or here.

Yeah I know. Just mentioning more gun violence in Vancouver recently. Not connecting the two together. Sorry if it came across that way.

I'm not even going to begin debating this. I'll leave it as a half-hearted comical poke at Vancouver denizens.

Ok, no problem.
Just wanted to clarify what actually happened today, for those who want to know about the event before the thread turns into Vancouver Sucks v.68

So looks like the first victim is 52 and the suspect who was later shot by police is 61. Officer who was injured was from broken glass shot out of their police cruiser and had minor injuries.
Pretty wild for a 61 year old to open fire in one of the busiest parts of town. A miracle no one else was hit.

The shooter was 61??? WTF?

I just don't get people. I'm pissed at my employer so I'm gonna shoot him. Brilliant.

An unmarked police car with 2 plain clothes officers just happened to be parked in front of the Starbucks at the time too.
Witnesses say they fired back at the shooter a couple of times and tried to protect the victim who was shot.

Likely prevented the guy from coming closer to finish the job, and firing more shots that could have hit bystanders.
They also chased him down the sea wall and likely alerted the other officers who cut him off by Science World.
Talk about police being at the right place and right time.
