I voted yes but more just to keep him as an AHL body. It's pretty apparent the NHL game has been too fast for him and the worst thing that can happen is he gets claimed on waivers when sent down but he's going to have a tough time remaining on any other team's NHL roster.

He never impresses me when I see him play, but I think they should give him one more shot. Worst case is that he helps out the farm team and then they let him go after this contract.

I wanted to vote both yes's. He fills a need and it's too early to give up on him now. Hopefully he comes into camp injury free and in good shape. Even if he doesn't make the Flames, he's still good to have on the farm. I could see him being let go by our GM though but I think he's more valuable than Joey MacDonald.

I voted yes for development. His NHL work is disappointing, but who knows, maybe he can still figure it out. If not, he's certainly not a bad option on the farm.

I voted yes for an AHL spot, as well as the 7th/8th defenseman on the team behind Wotherspoon. Just like Butler, it looked like he was getting better as the season ended.

I voted yes in terms of the Flames re-signing the player to a 2 way deal.
Most likely he is an AHLer.
Who can be recalled if there are injury issues.
He is 8th or 9th on the depth chart type of guy, but will help the AHL club and the young players.

Yes, depth, baby. A good 8th or 9th d-man to have.

keep him around to fill a spot but mainly for the AHL. If he gets better good if not he helps the farm.

He's been great in the AHL by all reports. At the same time you never know when something might click for him down the road as he's 24.

haven't watched much of him outside of his brief stints with the big club this past season, but he looked generally out of place most of the time.
if we're looking for depth d in the team depth chart, i would rather the team go find more billins/smith type guys.

Voted yes, good for the AHL club. He started looking OK on the NHL club toward the end of the season, not awful like before.

I think he is definitely worth re-signing. At worst, he is a good player in the AHL and provides size and toughness to the team - a role that he has been getting better with over the last few seasons.

I said yes. At the very least, he is good minor league depth. I could see him taking a "Derek Engelland" scenic route to the NHL (he didn't see his first game until he was 27, but has been a decent depth defensemen since then).
