I think if you have followed up with the person who last interviewed you as well as who would be your new boss, that is sufficient.

My last position I was interviewed by a couple of people including a couple from HR but the last was the President and who my direct supervisor would be. I sent him a quick note thanking him for his time and the interview and that ended up landing me the job.

I think you've probably done enough. Following up with HR might be getting to the pushy side of things. Just my opinion though.

Following up with HR is useless as it is the hiring VP who's making the call. Bascially, HR in an interview process is kind of useless and gets in the way of the hiring person and the candidate discussing real business.

General rule of thumb: Follow up once.

As tempting as it is, you've done enough. At this point they know you're interested and you've touched base. The risk you run with more involvement is undermining whatever process they have in place.

Don't worry, you've likely already gotten or lost the job. One more phonecall won't improve your odds.
