World Championship Thread
It's that time when rumors of invites are starting to come out:
“@SUNGilbertson: Hockey Canada has talked to #Flames D Mark Giordano about availability for world championships. He'll consult medical staff before deciding.”

I was thinking that perhaps Cammy was too "old" for this team.

Have Eberle and Hall been given permanent spots on the team yet?

He may get asked, but I believe pending UFA's rarely go because of the risk of injury.

Will Russell get an invite? Also how about the US and Euro Flames?
I am thinking Ramo and Backlund will get invitations, and Hudler also depending the Czech coaching dispute. How about Butler?

Butler has played for the US at the World Championships before, so he could, but he's also a pending UFA.

I can see about 5 or 6 Flames going to this. Burke always like to have his players play in this if they were available to.
Ramo, Backlund, Gio and Brodie, and Monahan because he can't go to the AHL to play in their playoffs.

Because he wasn't on their team roster on the day that the play-off (i think it is called clear day roster or something) rosters needed to be set.
I think Calgary sent 3-4 guys down that day on paper so they could qualify for the AHL play-offs.

Monahan is an NHL player, even if eligible, why would he go to Abbotsford for the playoffs?
