Default Rhinos hockey teams

Update:

We are still needing 3 North players for the North Rhinos team. Team is a good group. We should have the schedule by the end of the weekend.

( Sorry Jayems I just saw your post )

I know its early but I like to be prepared and leagues will start signups in a month or two for summer.

I am not a good hockey player. I'm not really playing to win the league. I am really just looking to start a team for fun. That being said I don't want to lose every game either, bc that's not fun.

This team will be playing in the NCHL, since they have a lot of different divisions and I am friends with the league. I don't really care if your skill level is absolutely horrible or really good, I am really just looking for a group of guys who aren't jerks, want to have fun, and will show up pretty regularly.

Anyone interested?

The ball park is 350ish per player for the league fees. We would then figure out something for jerseys.

That's a great question. I live in the S but close enough to the N. I'll drive wherever to play.

I guess I could have a poll put in here...

So I was looking through cool team names and logos from around Calgary. A lot of them are boring. I was talking with a buddy of mine who works for the NCHL. I told him I wished I could think of something that was American, Canadian, and unique all rolled into one for team names/jersey ideas.

We came up with this.... Obviously it's not set in stone but I thought the jerseys were pretty cool.... at the very least no one else will have something like it.

American - Baseball , Canadian- Expos , Unique- Well just look at it.

His name is Kris but I know most of the guys. It would just be jerseys. I think the shells are too much.

Les Expos? It will take less than a minute for the first opponent to call you guys Lesbos...
You might want to rethink that name.

please see the original post Expos is out.. And let's be honest, I have been called a lot worse than Lesbos so that wouldn't be a big deal. ... I mean your user name is PuffnStuff , there has to be far worse things that could be made up about that.

Hey Nick,

If the times in the OP are true than I'd be interested in playing.
Its been a few years since Ive played NCHL, and obviously during the summer its easier to get early ice times, but I'm pretty sure when I was in the NCHL we still ended up with a couple 11:30 games in Chestermere during the summer.
Anyway my preference would be for a north div, but again if all icetimes are at 9pm or earlier, driving to and from south fish creek wouldnt be so bad.

It's half or more games starting before 9pm but we have to register soon... not pay, just register. If we want the best schedule we will have to put up a deposit. I will ask how much. It seems like I have close to enough. I don't mind registering. Just don't want to only get 10 players and have to pay out the ass
