I'd go Babcock if the Olympics counted, his job there was one for the ages. But Roy and the Avalanche turn around is a no brainer for me.

Too bad playoffs don't count, because Sutter deserves it more than any of those guys.

This is why I cant vote for Roy: There was no turnaround.
Sacco took a good team and tanked a shortened season. This is the same good team just not tanking for Mackinnon.
There was no turnaround needed, the Avs just mailed in the lockout season to get a good draft pick.

Think it should be Patrick Roy, but I could easily make a case for Babcock as well.

Agree 100%.
I held my nose and voted for Roy. To me, the amazing thing about the Avalanche was not how well they did this season, but how badly they did with most of the same roster the year before (leaving aside the issue of whether or not it was intentional tanking).
Not that having the addition of MacKinnon didn't help this year, but I think Roy must have contributed something. Still, if he wins, it probably needs an asterisk.

I think Babcock deserves it but Roy will win it.

Would rather have picked Cooper or Babcock, but I voted Roy knowing that he will get it.

I can't vote for Roy because I feel he benefited from a rebound effect of the Avs tank job last year more than anything he did. I think he is going to win though. The success story is just too cheesy for the writers to not go for it.
My vote is Cooper.

Tampa and Colorado both had great seasons under their new coach, but Colorado was way more impressive. Why would people think Cooper deserves it more than Roy?
They jumped from 29th place, to a Division championship in the incredibly tough Central division. Also they didn't completely rely on their goalie. Varlamov definitely helped, but they played fine with Giguere in net. Without Bishop, Tampa was a dumpster fire.
Gotta be Roy over Cooper, and it's not even close.

They jumped from 29th place with a roster that was far, far superior to Tampa's to a division championship, yes. But this was a franchise that made no effort to compete last year. And unlike Cooper, Roy didn't have to deal with losing one of the game's greatest players to injury for much of the season, nor did he have to overcome St. Louis' bitch act.
Cooper did more with less.

Somehow I completely forgot about Stamkos, so I guess I was giving Cooper less credit than he deserved. Still think it's gotta be Roy, Babcock, then Cooper.

Agreed there. Roy deserves to be a finalist, and he is going to win, imo. I just don't think he should.

I have to give this one to Roy. As much as i can't stand the Avs, he obviously made a huge impact on them this year.

Isn't winning this award often a curse, so voting for Roy isn't such a bad idea.

I really wish the playoffs counted here (and for all awards really).
Coaches who don't get their teams into the playoffs never seem to get consideration, yet for some reason you can't count the actual playoffs themselves. Why not? The playoffs are where great coaches and players separate themselves, yet there's only one individual award that takes in to consideration, and coaches who do well in the playoffs have no way of being recognized.

Really? Over Roy and Cooper I can agree with, but you would take Bob over Mike Babcock?
I'm going to assume you're joking.
