Default Make Outlook Open Links in Chrome (Leave IE as Default)?

I'm scratching my head here at this one. Because of the recent advisory by US/UK governments not to use IE but because IE is still needed for applications, does anybody know if it is possible to have an application specific browser default?

IE: Most malicious hyperlinks come via e-mail. We want all links opened by Outlook to default to Chrome and not IE but leave IE as the default for everything else that depends on it for compatibility.

Any ideas or 3rd party apps that can intercept this request?
