Default Rabbit Ears To Monitor

Just wondering if anyone has had any success running a rabbit ear antenna or something similar to a LCD Orion monitor that does not have a regular cable input or air options. Looking to watch some Hockey on CBC at work.

Thanks

You'll need a tuner of some sort, an old VCR would work, but something with a tv tuner is needed.

Thanks looking for a small option if anyone else has any ideas. More of a sneak thing don't want anything to big and would be easy to hide. But in the big picture for the 5th year in a row i am not really dedicated to the playoffs. If I don't figure something out I will survive.

You could get a TV tuner card. I really never looked into them, but a client had a setup on his computer and seems to like it. Or a slingbox, but that might be tough depending on what work blocks.

I doubt that the connection between the VCR and monitor would be compatible. There are tuners that work in the computer. Like this one

Than there is something like this which bypasses the computer. I'm not recommending anything but it might work as it has a HDMI output.

Or just get a small TV which can double as a monitor.

I have a hauppage USB tuner that does this. It's been sitting a drawer for 2 years if anybody wants it for cheap. I remember watching HNIC on HD with it but I had to thread my rabbit ears into my metal venetian blinds as a MacGuyver array to boost the reception.

As Vulcan mentioned- a VCR will not work. VCRs use analog signals, and all OTA signals are now digital.

I have the box he mentions above, and it works great. I bought mine from Memory Express.

We got a TV for the Olympics at my work. We have a satellite on the roof but building management said we had to take responsibility for all telco equipment if we wanted to plug a wire in, so legal said no dice.

Some guy brought in his HD antenna from home, which worked amazing. We are going to take $20 out of the social commity fund to get an antenna for World Cup.

Pro: cheap, great signal, can watch CBC at work
Con: Need line of sight with signal (we had it next to a window on a 27th floor, not sure if it would work in a room)

This one is $10 but I think most run around $20.
