It really sucks this did not happen a year earlier, Jim Nill would have been nice.

Fenton, Hextall, whoever happens to be sitting next to Ken Holland at the moment... I'd like a new face, not a retread. And not Nonis.

The guy who builds a team that stays in the playoffs for 20 years, and has a legitimate chance to challenge for the cup at least 2/3 of those years.

I want Hextall, but I think it will be Claude Loiselle or Dave Poulin.

Al Coates.
I think he did a great job under the circumstances.

He also has ties to Brian Burke:
(Taken from Wikipedia)
"Al Coates (born December 3, 1945 in Listowel, Ontario, Canada) is an executive in the National Hockey League who most recently served as the Executive Director of 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship. Coates is a former General Manager of the Calgary Flames, a post he held from November 1995 until the end of the 1999–2000 NHL season. He then was named the Vice President of Hartford Sports and Entertainment for the New York Rangers from 2000-2003. He later served as interim General Manager of the Ducks in 2004–2005 before becoming the Senior Advisor to the General Manager. He then served as the Director of Player Personnel for the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2008. He won the Stanley Cup in 1989 with Calgary as Assistant to the President, and in 2007 with Anaheim as Senior Advisor to the General Manager."

Going to plug Mike Futa again

Quote:
The more and more I look at it, I think its Mike Futa. Futa also may have connections to BB as he is from the GTA and was a GM in the OHL.

Futa is also a hockey guy, and educated (York).

Director of Amateur scouting on a team that has been very good... just look at their 3rd string goalie right now.

Mike Futa also drafted a big/tough team with a lot of success.....

Also fits in line as Buffalo has interviewed Futa, fits that Futa is currently employed (obviously).....

Futa sounds like a very interesting candidate. Given that Burke talked about a newer guy who could be a star GM and just needed an opportunity. He's a guy with a successful record at the draft and Burke specified that he wanted someone who can get this year's draft right.

Going to plug that I think it will be Shanahan again.

Brendan strongly linked to Buffalo.

Also: Also explains Feaster removal timing. Had to happen now.
But I think Futa would be a much better choice and vote against the Nieuwy choice
