If the Canes win tonight the Flames cannot catch them and will finish 26th or 27th.

Canes will get hammered by Wings all pride has long since left that team. Unfortunately I think this one will go down to the final day to decide 26th

I so want to slap the HF forum Devil fan silly. Complaining about Calgary in a "nothing" game, and here they are... playing to win.

If Canes win, finishing no higher than 26th is locked in, yeah?

that's correct, they would win on tiebreaker even if we won our next two.

If Islander's don't get a point, there is no way for them to catch the Flames.

It is a Friday night

doubleheader
across the USA!

at

It is a meaningless game since the Capitals will not make the playoffs
and the Blackhawks are locked into third place in the Central Division.
This first time these teams met was on opening night back in October.
The Capitals lead 4-0 in the second period.

Both games will not be simulcast on TSN2 due to the Raptors game,
a two hour highlights show on round two of the Masters, and Friday
night boxing. Over on TSN,
a NASCAR race is on right now. The
second game could have been shown but Sportscentre and taped
programming are on instead. Good riddance TSN.

At 2030h

at

The Avalanche are in a must win situation if they want to finish
first in the Central Division and the western conference. They are
tied with the Blues for the division race and one point behind the
Ducks for the conference race.

The Red Wings are in a three way tie for the final two wild
card spots. Carolina leads 2-0 after one period.

and the OOT game of the night

at

The Stars clinch the final playoff spot in the western
conference if they win the game. The Blues have lost
four straight games and have fallen into a tie with the
Avalanche in their division and are one point back of
the Ducks for top spot in the conference.

In the second period, the Lightning have just scored to make
it 1-0, Palat with the goal. The BJs are in the three way tie
for the two wildcard spots and tied with the Flyers for third
place in the Metropolitan Divison.

For the Flames draft positioning, the Islanders need to get a point in their game against the Devils.
New Jersey leads 2-1 in the second period.

After two periods, the Lighting lead 3-1 over the BJs, 2-0 Hurricanes, and 2-1 Devils.

In the second period, it is still scoreless between the Blues and Stars.
