Default The race of disgrace - A Visual

I posted this graph in another thread a while back, but it is now becoming more relevant as we try to see where each team will end in the standings.

The graph shows a top team (at this point, Anaheim) versus the bottom five teams on a games played basis. I have included a couple notes within it for important events.

From now until the end of the season, I will update this daily so you can immediately see where we sit vis-à-vis the other bottom dwellers.

Man a top three pick is still so close even after this late season charge. If only the team could continue to demonstrate their never say die attitude but tragically come up short and lose 4 or 5 in a row...

Good on Edmonton, Florida and the Isles this year for keeping going.

Buffalo is obviously toast. But 2-5 is actually pretty close. And those above them aren't out of the hunt... per se.

There's a few websites that do this.

^^^ Yup, but they don't look at points vs games played as clearly, just points.

And as for the Van brawl, IF the respective trajectories continue, Van is targeting 76.5, while Calgary is 78.

Updated with tonight's events...

With Florida and the Coilers losing, our shots at a top three pick drop significantly.

Stranger things have happened, but at this point, it really looks like picking fifth.

Flames host the Sharks, Ducks and Rangers this week, then go on a gruelling 5-game road trip all over the continent. I could see us getting maybe 7 points tops out of those 8 games.

While it is definitely most likely we pick 5th or 6th, I'm not giving up hope on picking higher.

Carolina and Nashville winning on Friday and Saturday should pretty much make it so the Flames likely finish as the 26th place team.

Winnipeg is another team that is no good.

Ottawa could make a decent run fo'r 5th overall theyb have been just terrible lately. They have a bit easier schedule than us but they play 3 back to backs so it will be close.
