I went to a place called Golden Leaf in Crowfoot a few weeks ago. I am not a big cigar guy at all, and was buying a few for a bachelor party as well. The guy there really helped me pick out what I wanted, and I'm sure you can find something within your budget.

Unfortunately no, or they would be the first people that I would ask.

Romeo y Julieta No. 2 's are about $13 each, and are a great smoke for non-cigar types. Smooth, not too fat, and have a shorter burn for non-smokers.
Great cuban, and should only be about ~160 bucks after tax for a dozen. Some shops might even offer a slight discount, though they are sold by the box for cheaper (for 25).

There's a place in Silverado called the Tobacco Outlet and they have the cheapest cigars I've seen in the city.

You can also get some good cigars and prices at Zigarren, by Chinook.
Dont go to Sheffield and Sons, you'll get hosed on the price.
And I'll second the R&J #2s. I went to bachelor party a couple years back and the best man thought it would be a great idea to get these massive stogies, the downside of those is that they can take well over an hour to smoke and if you're a rookie cigar smoker it can make some people a little sick.

Yea I would definitely call myself a rookie cigar smoker, I like smoking pipe tabacco "cigars? cigarello's?" like Captain Blacks..
Anyone recommend something more along that line but a bit higher quality?

It depends on what you like. I find that people that smoke cigarillos do so because of the smooth flavour but also because you can smoke them in 'cigarette-settings.'
By that I mean, a nice cigar can take between 30-90 minutes to smoke, so they're really only applicable in specific settings.
In my humidor I maintain different types and sizes for different situations.

Right definitely the setting smoker. As a former smoker, I do enjoy to have a few Captain Blacks in a day of fishing, or when I am outside playing pool in a buddies garage. Basically something you can work at and have more than one of in a night.. like I wouldn't say I power through one in one session, smoke a few puffs, set it down, pick it back up etc..
So something with some longevity, but still has the smoothness and ability to be smoked in a cigarette like fashion. More like a CB, less like a Prime Time..

I have Cohiba Siglo VIs in my humidor right now for this very thing. Takes about 30-50 minutes to smoke depending on how you draw it, but you can definitely put it down and pick it back up again in similar situations but its still a very nice smoke.

Right ok I googled it and I have actually had one of those before, it was good. Still a bit heavier than what I am looking for I guess but I remember enjoying it.
I also have a stag this weekend and the groom isn't a big Cigar guy... so trying to figure out something above a cigarello that he can enjoy.

The Cohiba Siglo VI's are great... I prefer the Siglo IV's but they're both excellent cigars. R&J 2's are probably what I'd recommend for a bachelor party group mixed with non-cigar types... Not too harsh, good size, and good value for their price.

My best advice is to buy them in the US. you can bring back 50 per person duty free. Buy from this website http://www.cigarauctioneer.com/ They do ship to Canada, but you pay duty and shipping, they will put a price together then you can accept or decline it. If you are going to the US just have your order shipped to the nearest UPS store, there is minimal shipping fee and no duty.
Probably doesn't help out the OP in this case but may help the rest of you. Also of course there are no Cubans, but lots of good Dominicans and Nicaraguans. Love the samplers.

I'm buying about 5 packs of Backwoods cigars for a fishing trip next week. I think I'll try that place in Silverado, although I do not understand why you would open a cigar store on the very outskirts of town....
