You know I love Shaq and all, but wow... the guy isn't near as dominating as he used to be, and he is already showing big signs of breaking down.
5 year contract at this point? Yikes.

I struggle with things like these.
It makes me wonder a players devotion to the game.
I look at the amount 20 mil per year and say holy shinguard, he's just in it for the money, why not just sign for 5 million and help your team out your already loaded up the ass anyways.
But than I look at the length and how long Shaq is. Come on it would be pretty tempting if you were in his situation and had signed a 1 year deal for 20 million hell even 4 million and than called it quits and lived off of that.
My main point is, is that with most players you can tell if they are playing for the money or because they love the game. Shaq is a toss up, or maybe he does it for both?

The thing is I don't think Miami needs any help. They pulled off the biggest trade in NBA history and are very stacked. They get Antoine Walker, Jason Williams, and James Posey.

Shaq has never used a dollar from his contracts either. He's lived off endorsments his whole life and has put all of his contract money in a bank account. The guy is gonna have one sweet ass life after basketball.
Still the funniest guy in sports and one of the most genuine nice guys to play any sport.

Shaq has made 292million from playing in the NBA (just contracts, not saying endorsments) so he's pretty set. as for after retirement, I'm expecting Shaq to balloon up to 400lbs and die of a heartattack around 55. I'm not hoping, but this guy balloons in the offseason. Pretty bad when you gain 50lbs in the few months when you're not in a season.

I think Shaq truly loves the game but I also don't think he will embarrass himself. Even if he's in the middle of a contract I think he will walk away from the game if he gets to the point where he can't play at a very high level.
In other news - what I don't understand about that 5 team deal is Utah getting Greg Ostertag. How does that happen? How in the middle of all that does the Jazz get involved and ask for Greg Ostertag of all things? I just don't understand how that goes down.

I think he only has 1 year left on his contract. Salary dump most likely.
