Flames recall Breen and Cundari. Wotherspoon has season ending surgery
Breen has been recalled according to AHL transactions page:
http://theahl.com/stats/transactions...&f_team_id=379
also Paul LaTour who covers the wolves reports cundari has been recalled but it isn't on the transaction page yet

Just got word #chicagowolves have lost defenseman Mark Cundari. Flames called him up to Calgary.

Well then. I guess Witherspoon and billins goes back to Abby and Burke sees what he has in these two.. Not sure it qualifies under the call up rule though.

Will the Wolves be upset? I don't know if there is a precedent for this type of thing.

Will Cundari shoot the puck?

Cundari has played well for the Wolves since being traded/transferred. Glad he might be getting another opportunity, probably his only chance to earn a contract for next year

Cundari? That's a surprise.

Love this news. I'm a big fan of Cundari.
Loaning him to the Wolves was a stroke of brilliance, was basically a free draft pick and they still retain his rights.
Here's hoping he plays well.

Breen? Meh. I hope it's not Wotherspoon going down, love the way the kid plays, would rather keep him up and give him more experience. Cundari was kind of a forgotten man, hope he does well.

Wotherspoon should stay in the NHL, he hasn't looked out of place at all.

What draft pick?
I thought we got Corey Locke for him.

We got Locke for him who was on an AHL contract. We kept Cundari, just loaned him.

Wotherspoon has struggled since Smid went out, he was getting beat to the outside tonight a ton.

That's what I meant, poor terminology on my part. Locke was a free asset, Flames gave up nothing. That's good asset management.

I am not sure, but I think you can transfer an emergency assignment. So they could theoretically replace Wotherspoon and Billins with these two without using up a recall. But like others, I don't really like the idea of sending Wotherspoon back down. Did someone else get hurt tonight, perhaps?
