Pretty huge news today from TSN. They'll be showing all KU games this year because of Wiggins. That's great news for Big 12 fans like myself.
Biggest stories this off season were:
Brad Stevens leaving for the Celtics.
UK's recruiting class is stupid good.
AAC is now a league.
EDIT: New hand checks and charge rules
Season starts soon around November 8th. Your team might have played a secret scrimmage already!
EDIT:
Woah... Check out the Champions Classic. UK vs MSU for the earliest 1vs2 ever and KU vs Duke for Wiggins vs Parker. Nov 12. KU game will be on TSN2. Not sure about UK vs MSU though.
Texas basketball will be the worst it's been in years. Rick Barnes will be let go. The most intriguing storyline is can we convince Buzz Williams or Shaka Smart to come coach here next year. Or if you listen to local radio let's get Bill Self!!! That's more unrealistic than Saban coming here for football.

How is Shaka Smart in any way realistic? He seems happy here, and has turned down higher profile jobs than Texas. Seems it would take an opening at a place like Duke or Kentucky for Shaka to consider leaving, especially while VCU is still on the upswing.
Speaking of VCU, awesome ending to a game marred by the new rules last night. Should be a good year for them.
I think there's a pretty decent chance Julius Randle can unseat Wiggins as the number 1 pick next year. Randle has been very impressive so far and is just at a different level physically than some of the other top talents.

Not sure if Shaka Smart is realistic, but Texas can offer more money than anyone else. I think Buzz is the more realistic scenario (I actually prefer him and he's from Texas). Shaka is definitely more realistic than Self, because Kansas would pretty much match anything Texas would offer. VCU doesn't have those resources. However, that 15 year contract is pretty good stability which Texas would never offer. If he wants Kentucky than he just has to wait a couple years until Calipari is about to get caught cheating again.
Huge win for Kansas last night...and Wiggins didn't disappoint. Nor did Parker for Duke. Looks like Perry Ellis might actually be a player at this point. I was a little worried about him. He's a very 'nice' kid and kind of played that way last year.
Wichita State looked outstanding defensively against Western Kentucky very early Tuesday morning (midnight start in Wichita). They've got some work to do offensively (not surprising) but they really shut down a good Hilltoppers team. Newcomer Kadeem Coleby looked fantastic in the low post. Fred Van Vleet is going to be the next Shocker that gets All-American run (Cleanthony Early this year). The kid is cold as ice and only a sophomore. 17 points from him. They could make another deep run this year.

Buzz to Texas has been talked about for quite a while now. That'd fix Texas pretty quick I'd imagine.
I think the biggest thing we learned from the Champions Classic is that the #1 pick is up for grabs. Don't think any teams would take Parker if the draft were today but I can see a big split on Wiggins and Randle. Going to be a fun year watching them.
Big win for Wichita State over BYU last night. They didn't play well at all offensively, but still managed to win by 13. BYU is a likely tournament team and played like one for most of the game. Next up is the Saint Louis Billikens, another likely tournament team, this coming Sunday.
Luffile and Wiggins both played big roles off the bench last night for the Shockers too, for your required Canadian content!

Holy crap! Hanging with BYU and smoking Depaul has me a bit more interested in Texas basketball this year. We don't have the talent we usually have, but we have guys that give their all. Rick Barnes might save his job if he can get these guys to the tourney. Cameron Ridley has shown these past two games why he was a top recruit. I wish we could have won against BYU to see how we would do against a very good Wichita State team.
Does anyone know how to purchase just a single session ticket for NCAA Tournament. I will be down in San Diego on March 23rd and want to get tickets for just that day and not the entire weekend.

I'd check out the Rivals message board for one of the teams that is in SD but not playing in that session. Lots of folks only go to their own teams games. You could get single session tickets that way. Or just head down to the scalpers. Maybe they open up single session tickets as it gets closer but I don't remember.
In a related note, my folks and I are heading to the games in Orlando. Think I'm doing the PAC12 tournament right before it too.
Edit: I see that is the second day of games so my advice sucks. Sorry.
So Wichita State actually moved down in the AP poll this week, despite moving their record to 9-0. The reason? A Kansas beat writer left them off his ballot completely. Interesting situation that has caused a lot of uproar in Wichita.
Shocks get Tennessee at the Intrust Bank Arena in Wichita this Saturday. Should be interesting. Not their normal home floor.

My last year in Chapel Hill is going to be a great one for watching college basketball. I went to the UNC vs Greensboro game last Saturday, I have tickets to the UNC vs Kentucky game tomorrow, and on Monday I'm going to Cameron Indoor to watch Duke beat up Gardner-Webb. /cool story bro
I'm going to try and post some pictures after the Duke game of everything.

And whats happened to Kansas? 3 losses in 4 games with all that talent seems impossible. Bad coaching perhaps?
No way. I think Self is a Top 5 coach. He's so smart.
I think teams with that kind of talent take a while to develop the team game that it takes to win in the NCAA. Plus, they are a little soft. They need to develop some toughness.

I agree completely. I would also add that when a team depends on freshmen, they are going to be inconsistent. Kentucky had glue guys with experience (Darius Miller & Doron Lamb) when they won two years ago although Davis and MKG powered the team.
The key is that Wiggins, Emiid, and co get challenged during regular season so they can have a long run in March.

Agreed. Perry Ellis needs to be stronger down low too. He's got the body...it's not an issue of adding muscle or bulk...he's just not that kind of guy and he has to find the way to be that on the court.
