Portland should beat the Giants easily in 4 maybe 5 games so without seeing the schedule I think sometime at the end of March he should be done with the WHL season.
He was a fourth round pick right? We seem to have done alright with those in the last few drafts. Will be interesting if he makes it to the heat this year.
I believe the same rule that prevents Agostino from playing for the Heat will apply to Kulak as well UNLESS his NHL contract starts for next season and not this season like Agostino's.
The Flames release is not clear on when the contract starts.

Kulak's deal with slide this year thus his contract will not start until next year

His contract can't slide he is a 20 year old player that signed an ELC. Slides are only for 18/19 year olds

9.2 Age of Players. As used in this Article, "age," including "First SPC Signing Age," means a Player's age on September 15 of the calendar year in which he signs an SPC, regardless of his actual age on the date he signs such SPC.
I don't know who kulak will replace if he gets playing time. I would still like to play Wotherspoon and I don't really see Hartley sitting a vet. Assuming he can't go down to the heat like agostino

Highly doubtful Kulak will play with the Flames this year.

It doesn't say either way in the press release, but I assume this is a deal that starts next year so that once his season ends, he can go to Abbotsford like he did last year.
I can't see them throwing a 20 year-old d-man to the wolves in the NHL like that, and he'd benefit greatly from the time with the Heat.
I guess we'll see when the Giants' season ends.
