Default Multi-Colour LED Light Bars (or other cool lights)

So I plan on making my garage into a pretty cool hang-out space (when cars aren't parked in it) and I want some lighting to go along with the theme I'm working on. I installed the furnace last week, and now I'm getting ready for the electrical, which is where I need some help for what I want to do.

I would like some LED light bars installed in the ceiling pointed straight down around perimeter of the garage. The top 5' of the walls are going to be white (bottom 3' grey), but the effect I want is to basically bathe the walls in light from the LED bars to change their colour. In my mind's eye it looks really cool, but I don't know what this will cost or where to get them. I'll need 96' of LEDs to pull this off.

Alternatively, I could just get some party lights like a bar would use. Anybody know any place that sells these used or something? Any other cool light ideas for me?

TIA dudes.

Costco has some nice ones that are remote based and can change to different colors. Have them, they're very nice. Used them in my bedroom

Sweet that's exactly what I'm looking for. It'd be $700 to do the whole perimeter, though, which is pricey. I'll definitely do a couple walls, though. Thanks a lot.

You can do a lot more with it, but you can either set it and forget it, or learn a little bit about DMX

i'm not sure how much stuff you plan on putting in your garage, but this is something i want to do in my 'next' games room... (and it falls under the "Any other cool light ideas for me" request)

glass top bar lit with LED's.... i think this would look sooooooo cool....

How about some of that rope lighting. You can buy it at lowes for a lot less than $700 - I think.

Hah that's pretty awesome, but a little beyond the scope of my project.

That's walking a fine line between cool garage and university-kid stoner pad. Good idea, though; I'm definitely not above it.

I've decided to put electrical outlets on the ceiling in all four corners of the garage so I won't be limited in what I can do.
