I thought the same thing. As a father of two young ones, I find it hard to imagine getting on with life after something so tragic.

Celebrated Square Root Day

I think what was really special for me was seeing him at the bench. It was the most non-hockey team celebration I've ever seen.
It was like in that moment no one on the team was thinking about the implications of that goal on the game, they were 100% invested in the goal's deeper meaning.
He just kind of fell into the embrace of his teammates as they all took turns saying things in his ear.
Really special.

Watching the game with my 8 year old son (he is a Canuck fan, & we have a good rivalry going).
I shared Matt's story with him while watching the replay. I actually got quite choked up when he says to me, 'that's so sad, I'm glad he scored'.

They were the words, or close enough, but Hrudey was referring to Stajan's goal and arm raised to the heavens as the beautiful moment.
