Since losing to the Flames in a SO after leading 3-1 into 3rd, Stars are on an awful skid. Lost every game after that and losing so far to the Ottawa Hemskys.

Outside of that first game against the Sharks the Flyers have been terrific since returning from the Olympic break. 8-1-1 in their last 10 and 5 straight wins. 2 of those wins came against Pittsburgh, another against Chicago (in OT) and today they beat the league leading Blues. Giroux has 17 points in 10 games during March. Could be the case of a team getting hot at the right time if Mason can pull through.

The Red Wings hang on and win 3-2 in regulation. The Red Wings now have the last playoff spot, one point ahead of the BJs and one point back of the stinkin' Leafs and Rangers. The Wild loss is good news for the Coyotes and Kings and for the Jets, Canucks, and Stars.
Cody Eakin has tied it for the Stars at the end of two periods. The Senators are being out shot 31-19, Lehner has been superb in goal.
The Kings lead 2-0 over the Panthers after one period.

Flyers are looking good.
Giroux should be getting some MVP consideration. After a really slow start, he's now crept into 3rd in the scoring race. First 30 games: 5G 15A = 20P. Next 40 games: 19G 35A = 54P. Crosby will be the favorite given his commanding lead in the scoring race, but I'd bet Giroux gets nominated. Still sucks he didn't make the Olympic team.

Ottawa is a mess defensively they don't look like they're trying out there lazy stick checks while dallas circles their net. How did they go downhill so fast?

Didn't realize it since he's playing in Dallas, but Tyler Seguin has turned into an elite player.
It's tons of fun watching him. Unbelievable skater and more importantly his hands can actually keep up to his feet. He makes plays at top speed and while he'll never be an elite defensive player that part of his game has come a long way.
Watching him and Jamie Benn do their thing against Ottawa is a lot of fun.
Seguin absolutely should have been the 1st pick in 2010, Boston should have never dealt him and it's too bad the Flames weren't able to close the deal for him in the summer.

The only way someone doesn't vote Crosby first place is because they are sick of him being so good. Anyone who does should lose their voting privileges though. Assuming he finishes the season with around 110 points and the next best finishes under 90 points that's the biggest difference in over a decade. Got to go back to 1999 when Jagr finished with 20 points over Selanne before you see even close to this separation, unless I'm forgetting a year.
Then you got Ovechkin who will likely finish the season with 10 more goals than anyone else. Whether he deserves consideration or not it's obvious that the writers who don't watch the game love to put his name down. See last year when he was voted an All-Star for left and right wing.
Getzlaf should be a consideration as well especially if the Ducks can claim the conference title.
And there's Kessel playing in the center of the universe.
Whether he deserves it or not I don't think he'll be beating those fowards, and there's also your usually suspects like Toews who will gather some votes. When you look beyond just forwards you got Karlsson putting up a point-per-game as a defenseman with Keith playing Norris calibre. Bishop with 34 wins and a 2.17 GAA in Tampa. Price playing in Montreal (See Theodore), Rask and Quick putting up great numbers.

The Stars get two goals in the third period and win 3-1 over the Senators. Jamie Benn scores his 30th goal of the season. The Senators playoff fantasies will not be happening.
The Kings lead 3-0 over the Panthers after two periods.

I think it's a combination of injuries, bad bounces, shaky goaltending and higher expectations. They had that perfect "pesky sens" moniker last year and they were a great story, but for whatever reason they couldn't pull it all together this season and improve on last year's performance. I don't think you can blame it on Bobby Ryan, Karrlson or Spezza. But both goalies have been weak. Anderson has been sub par and Lehnier has been pretty weak also. Cody Conacher was a bust and trading away Ben Bishop is appearing to be a horrible mistake.

Big tough Dion going after that goon Desharnais.
And Desharnais somehow winds up with the penalty out of it?

It is unreal how back in November, Don Cherry was saying that Reimer and Bernier should be the Olympic goalies.

Rick Nash has scored the only goal in the Rangers-Devils game, 1-0 Rangers after two periods.
The Jets and Hurricanes were scoreless midway through the second period and then both teams scored four goals in 3:30. Carolina leads 3-1.

Jake Gardiner has been sick tonight. He's all over the ice. This is why Burke should take a run for him. You can't find guys with that talent level.

Bernier is included because I was mentioning what Cherry said in his Coaches Corner rant. I will readily admit that Bernier has played very well considering how many shots he faces on a regular basis.
