Flames Flames vs Canucks, 8:00 PM MST. CBC, SN, City, Omni, Fan 960

It's Hockey Day in Canada, with games out the wazoo! And our heroes are the main event against Vancouver. The boys look to rebound from Thursday's game and return to recent high scoring glory.

As Hockey Day has seemingly become a wintery version of Canada Day, That Darn Puppet has embraced all the Canadiana that goes with the game, and can't wait to share it with everyone, be they friend or foe:

Spoiler!

Go Flames

Canucks are playing well so good Markstrom needs to make an appearance and hopefully guys like Mangiapane and Coleman can chip in with secondary scoring to supplement what's been the NHL's best first line.

The standings are weird with all the differences in games played. IMO Flames are good enough to be right there for the Division lead but I will feel better when they are in that spot with actual points. You can't take games in hand for granted so this is an important game.

If Flames are as good as i think they are, they beat a team like Vancouver especially after getting spanked by the Blues.

I'm a little worried, Canucks are 9 points better than us in their last 20 games, not an easy win but should be a win none the less

Are they still running their 5th string Goalie who’s been on fire up or is Demko/halak back?

It's understandable to be concerned about Calgary finishing but the Canucks aren't playing all that well.

Last 20 games

CF%
Calgary 3rd
Vancouver 17th

xGF%
Calgary 1st
Vancouver 14th

HDCF%
Calgary 1st
Vancouver 10th.

They're not the tire fire that the were at the start of the season, but vastly improved has only gotten them to middling.

So we get the real Canucks, unlike the Oilers who continue to get teams decimated by either injuries or Covid such as the Montreal Canadiens tonight.
