Default Nolan signs extension with Sabres

Looks like the sabres have signed Nolan to an extension. I kinda like him as a coach and I think he'll help their rebuild.

Yeah, he'll help make sure they're in McDavid territory.

...not sure what this guy has done deserve the job.

The Sabres suck on paper, and are even worse on the ice.

Yeah it's going to be ugly. You will have teams like the Sabres and Oilers that will be out of it by November but there will be a lot of teams like the Hurricanes, Predators, Panthers, that if are out of the playoff race by January will start losing hard.

Good move by the Sabres as the risk of bringing in a new coach is the Hartley effect where maybe the team overachieves and takes them out of the McDavid sweepstakes. This ensures that won't be an issue.

Carolina is rumoured to be looking into a sell-off of their players too. Ward and Stalls included.

Next year is going to have some historically bad teams, with Buffalo leading the way.

I guess I don't follow the Sabres other than watching the standing. Not sure how Ted Nolan is doing over there but by looking at the standing, definitely questioning why is he getting a contract extension. Unless the Sabres management wants to get a good excuses in another crappy season again next season. Or maybe he really is doing a nice job over there that we (Western) never even noticed. Whatever the reason is, i hope it is for tanking the season two years in a row.

Oh I just remembered he's only an INTERIM head coach. Now I guess it makes sense now. They just removed his interim tag.
