Ward isn't a guy I'd like the Flames to Acquire, but why do I feel like he is Calgary bound? About the only team that does not have goaltending solidified and has the cap space to burn.

If the Canes are looking to shed payroll moving Ward, Rutuu, or Semin make way more sense than Staal.

I do think Ward could be on the move and I wouldn't be totally shocked if Calgary was in on it. Maybe Vancouver as well?

What would be fair value for a goalie like Ward?

Canes have been (apparently) interested in Backlund, Stajan and Wideman in the last month or so (according to Twitter babble).

Both Ruutu and Tlusty were rumoured to be on the block earlier this season.

As much as I wouldn't mind a goalie like Ward, I don't think any of us would like the cost of acquisition. I wouldn't want to go beyond Wideman & Stajan for Ward and Ruutu. Minor cap relief for the Canes, but I don't see much point beyond that (and please don't go on and on about Stajan having just been extended; that means jack )

The Canes are struggling with prospect depth... Beyond Lindholm and Murphy it looks pretty bad for them tbh.

We currently have a lot of prospect depth, and to a franchise like Carolina that would make us an ideal trade partner.

Still not sure we should go near Ward though...
