I'd love to have a water proof watch that I could receive important calls, texts, listen to spotify or Pandora, and have a basic running gps app. I'd take it out running, to the beach, to the pool, whenever I didn't want my real phone. It is only useful though if I didn't have to drag my phone with me. As some kind of satellite device to a phone, I just don't see the point.

Hopefully this puts some pressure on Pebble to start getting some better apps out and better firmware out there.

I'm not sure about this whole watch segment and this does little to convince me. It's bulky, the battery only lasts a day and it just feels like they crammed too much into it.

Yeah, I'd like the simplicity of a Pebble made by Samsung. But I kinda want to be James Bond with that video recording.

Qualcomm Toq seems better. The screen is visible in bright sunlight and the battery lasts for several days.

Why call it a watch and box consumers it into that thought? Why not a wrist band or arm band.

I don't see how this becomes a popular product let alone a revolutionary one. I'll be pretty surprised if this sells in droves and think that even the biggest techno-geek wouldn't wear it as a 'fashion statement'.
Granted I didn't think people would want to use their music player as a telephone, so what the hell do I know....

I'm pretty sure if I search far enough back in my post history I said the same thing about the ipad.
But I agree. I can't see this being the next big thing. Well, I hope it's not at least.

Pretty lame that its only compatible with a few devices... Hopefully they increase the number of compatible devices very soon, or I fear this unit will never really take off.
Should it be usable with my device, I think Id purchase this day 1...

I thought that cellphones turned watches into a fashion piece?
I can't remember the last time I actually checked my watch for the time.

I have a Pebble, and I'm pretty happy with it. Pebble is still a bit rough around the edges but it does seem to be progressing nicely.
It lasts about a week on a charge. That can vary depending upon the watch face you have on it.
Email or SMS I can read on my watch and decide if I need to pull out the phone to respond.
I have my phone silent with vibration turned off since the vibration of the watch is my notification.
Even with bluetooth always on, the battery on the phone lasts just as long since I don't need to look at it at often.
There are new watch faces and apps being released regularly ( http://www.mypebblefaces.com/)
Overall I'm pretty happy with the watch and have no regrets.

Would be amazing for drivers without a handsfree setup... Also, the watch does A LOT more than that... Perhaps thats why you dont get it?

I would need water proof, GPS, and send and recieve text and email before I would consider one. I would also want at least 3 days of battery life.
If you could turn it into a weekend warrior type device that you beat up and offers you decent functionality I would be interested.

Yes, that's exactly what drivers need in the vehicle. More electronics to fumble around with and pay attention to.
At least this way when buddy is staring at his watch while talking into it, when I get rear-ended he'll smash his fist into his head.

No, to be used as a hands free telephone. Theres no fumbling, just a press of a button and youre speaking to whomever called. It would be much the same as pushing a steering wheel button to accept a call in a vehicle equipped with bluetooth/hands free calling.
I dont know how good the mic/speaker quality will be on the watch, but it has potential. With your hands at 10 and 2, the mic and speaker should be in good alignment with your sensory face holes.
People who text or sort music playlists or surf porn while driving arent what Im talking about.
