Saw a stat that says Slovenia has 148 registered hockey players. They're going to finish top 8. Unbelievable.

This Slovenia team is a pleasant surprise to watch. They're playing like men possessed, especially Kopitar. Austria can't match their work ethic. Those of you sleeping are missing a hell of a hockey game!

Gotta agree that work ethic is the key for Slovenia. What a story from Hrudy that reminds us that Slovenia's pool is from only 940 players. It is incredible and what the Olympics is all about.

It would be awesome if Slovenia could pull off a medal in hockey in their first time qualifying to play in men's hockey at the Olympics.

This team is just too easy to like. I was expecting it to be Kopitar and a bunch of scrubs, but the scrubs are playing so well right now. Kopitar is just on another level.

Even when they're not playing for the oilers, oilers suck.

Sweden was so out of it the whole game against Belarus. Salo's fail was only part of it, the Swedes should've been running up the score instead of being tied. Could it happen again with Lundqvist in goal? We'll see.

lol BBC commentators taking the time to contemplate what GB could do to "catch up to Slovenia" in international hockey.

Right on! Feel the same way and even when they're not playing for the Canucks, Canucks suck.

Ole-Kristian Tollefsen is playing a very solid shutdown game for the Norwegians against Russia... What happened to him in Detroit? He seemed like a solid & feisty player back in Columbus & Philly. Seems surprising to me that he's playing in the SEL.

Solid 1st period from Norway, keeping the Russians off the scoresheet.

I really don't think Russia have what it takes to win this tourney. Plenty of skill, but where's the drive? Who can step up and be their clutch player? Home-ice jitters & pressure might be playing a part...

Radulov with a miracle backhand seeing-eye fluke goal. 1 - 0 Russia.

Radulov has come alive... finally.

Kovalchuk bangs home the rebound after some good skill by the aforementioned scruffy one.

2 - 0 Ruskies

Tereshenko carrying on like he scored a gold winning goal with the 4-0 goal and 30 seconds left. The Russians can't be eliminated soon enough for me. They are playing dirty hockey, mixed with a dash of Canucks. I am obviously jaded for some unknown reason and might go to hell for it, but their inevitable tears will bring me joy.

They play Finland tomorrow... Should be a big test for them.

Radulov seems to have awoken from his hangover, which is about the only worrying thing. Ovie is still hangin' bad, from the looks of it.
