how to make a signature

How do I make a signature for myself. I enter the URL but nothing appears? What should I do?

I think you're going to have an issue with the guidelines, now that I've c/p'd and had a look at it.

Copy and paste that, just remove the spaces I included in the tags, so that it would format properly.

I dont think i did it right. Its not really a big deal, just thought it would be kind of cool

Remove the spaces, lol. You see in the first tag, where it says IMG and then there's a space, and then the bracket? Go in and backspace from the bracket to remove the space.

Here are the guidelines for sigs/pics:

4. Thou shalt be considerate of others when posting images or large posts.

Avatars must be no larger than 64px by 64px and 20KB. Animated GIFs are ok, but not if they cause seizures.

Signatures must be no larger than 400px wide by 150px tall. Some extra text is ok, but try to keep it about that high. Signature file sizes should be about 200KB maximum, though if you have an excellent animated one that's under 1MB we may consider allowing it.


Host your own images where possible, and definitely host your own signature images; we generate enough traffic that it can significantly impact some sites. See the help forum for help in hosting your own images.

How'd I make the siggy? I copied and pasted the link you had in there originally, copied the link's location, went to Tinypic, remote hosted/loaded it there, copied the link and pasted it back here so you could see it. Tinypic allows you to adjust the image size, which I did, and I chose 'thumbnail' which is what you see in your siggy now.

They prefer you don't just hotlink a picture - which is what you did, by just boosting it off the internet. Tinypic or Imageshack or Photobucket or anything similar to that, are free remote picture hosts - Tinypic doesn't require an account (though you can make one if you like) but the other two do.
