Default How many banned members?

Was going through the members list today for fun and checking out post counts/daily # of posts, join dates etc etc. Was interesting, and a fun way to waste some time.

I noticed that there are 144 pages of members how have zero posts. That is approx 4320 people.

43 pages worth, or approx 1230 people, only have one post.

54 pages, or approx 1620 people have less than 5 posts.

Made me wonder: How many of those and others have been banned from here. Any numbers?

About 2000 users in the banned user group, however the VAST majority of those are spammers which I banned before the registration was approved. It varies but currently we're getting like 5 or more registrations per day that are spam accounts.

What? Why? I knew we never should have let puckluck back in the clubhouse. This is surely his doing.

We're a forum that shows up on Google searches, spammers just search for the forum software name to find forums then pay someone in Russia or India or somewhere to try and register to advertise something (or have a bot setup to do it if the registration allows for it). Same value proposition as spam email I guess, get enough out there and you'll make some money.

I never understood spam mail, it is obviously always spam mail. Is there people out there that actually click that stuff?

Obviously we don't want them spamming our forums but what I mean is why do they pay people to do this still?

They wouldn't pay if it wasn't worth it for them, so they must get enough clicks.
