Hrm.... I hate these documentaries. An hour and 40 minutes of showing how awful the problem is and almost nothing on any kind of solution.

The Solution is turning Boomers into Soylent Green and taking their assets.

I'm thinking those of us younger types could take up robbing banks with magic and illusions to settle the score.

Can someone give the Cliff notes, I don't have time to watch the whole thing today.

But, I didn't realize it was the duty of the baby boomers to leave the economy better, so I'll start with that.

It's the duty of every generation to leave the world a better place for further generations. The boomers were handed the world on a silver platter and coasted by on the efforts of previous generations.

The boomers have an incredibly inflated sense of self value. They think history will remember them as the enlightened generation that perfected modern civilization, but i think they will be remembered as gluttonous hedonists more than anything. It's been well established that the generation following the boomers will be the first in our civilization that had it worse than their parents.

The boomers had every opportunity to make the world better for future generations, but squandered it on materialism and self indulgence.

That makes no sense, older human meat would probably be stringy and fat laden and probably be like chewing cartilage. Younger people on the other hand with their yoga and spin classes would probably taste a lot better.

At the risk of sounding racist are human's dark or white meat?

And do they go better etiquette wise with red or white wine.

Bottom line is that the boomer generation has had a failure in terms of leadership development.

The previous generations built great leaders through their college system who were agents of change and results.

Frankly the last two or three presidents haven't been great in terms of leading the charge and have been content to sit back and let stuff fall apart and have had no answer.

Even the inspirational aspect of leadership is gone replaced by the whole concept of technocrats with little to no execution.

  • The fact that Gen X&Y and whatever comes after are here is because of Baby Boomers diffusing the Cold Wars
  • A Baby Boomer eradicated Polio. That sounds pretty damned fine.
  • Baby Boomers have helped reduce or eradicate in some countries the instance of Capital Punishment.
  • Boomers gave you the Beatles, Beach Boys and Bee Gees!
  • Boomers gave you the RIGHT to Divorce....you can decide if thats good or bad.
  • Boomers were responsible for dismantling Communism in most of the world.
  • Who started the "internet"? oh ya...a BOOMER.
  • Civil Rights? Who needs them? Oh ya Boomers again.
  • Baby Boomers were the first group to really ring the bell on Environmental issues. This isnt something X&Y just thought up this century.
and lastly...we look and smell a hell of a lot better.

as to the economy...well lets see if you guys do a better job.

The polio vaccine was invented in the 1950s, capital punishment rules, beach boys suck, communism dismantled itself, baby boomers murdered the environment for hair products. Baby boomers are the worst!

Civil rights - Boomers might have laid some groundwork for civil rights, but they were pretty pathetic regarding the execution. How many women / minority CEOs / high level executives are there? They still are composed of 90% caucasian men.

Civil rights is "all good" for them... But only once they retire, on their golden parachutes, when a female or diverse candidate can replace them.
