As soon as Burke said he was giving Hartley permission to use players how he wanted, including sending guys down if he thought they needed it, I knew this move was coming. I think it's probably for the best at this point, as long as it's not a prelude to trading him. He's shown flashes of being ready, but the consistency from shift to shift isn't there yet.

Long overdue. He should have been sent down in the start of November rather then having this drag on and on.
The Heat are the #1 team in the AHL, they have a strong room and a strong group of guys. The best place for his development and to give him a kick in the right direction is the Heat.
