Looks pretty sweet $1,300 though, I wonder how far you can go on one charge.

Wonder how it does on hills. Does it have enough power to go up a decent gradient, and what happens going down? Do the brakes kick in at some point?

It has a lot of potential. Imagine working a downtown office job and riding this thing to work. Small enough to stick under your desk, not having to worry about showering and changing vs. riding a bike. It could be a much bigger "IT" than the Segway ever was

If it functions like a Segway, that would be pretty awesome. Much easier to take with you somewhere, and bring inside/put aside when you get there.

If only I was 16 years old again and had a spare $1300.00 to spend.

Regular skateboarders will hate this thing, because people will bring them to skateparks and get in the way, just like the the scooters that have become a plague in recent years.

It looks fun, but for the price I'd stick to a regular board.

You're probably right, but this thing looks like it would be neat to use as transportation. That 180 the guy did looked kind of ######ed. I can't imagine this will be good for tricks, particularly in a park.

Plus, not all skateboarders go to parks, anyway. I'm 37 and I pretty much just stick to my longboard now. I'd buy this in a heartbeat for longer trips. $1,300 is steep, but I I'd probably do it. I'd want to make sure it can haul all 220 pounds of me up a hill, though.

The problem with using it as transportation is it's motorized so, like the Segway, technically it can't be used on streets or sidewalks here in Calgary.

I bet they'd still be less annoying than scooter kids. They are one of the main reasons I go to the skatepark at 7am in the summer.

It could be difficult but I may try to hold off for version 2.0 - looking for greater horsepower and ollie capabilities

Skateboarders = skaters ≠ longboarders
All skaters go to parks or similar type locations.

Sort of the same thing when one says "biker" they think of the Hell's Angels or at least the motor type. Not the Lance Armstrong type. It's why you have to state cyclist, mountain biker, bmxer, etc.

Guy, I've been skateboarding since 1984. I mostly ride my longboard now, but I still bust out my regular deck multiple times per year. Your definition is completely and utterly ######ed.
