Default Fireside Chat Interview: Todd Simpson

The third interview in our Old Flames series will be with the youngest Captain in Flames history, defenceman Todd Simpson.

Todd Simpson was signed by the Flames as an Unrestricted Free Agent in 1994, and played in Calgary until 1999. Along with an NHL career, Simpson has also played professional hockey in Germany and Switzerland, and most recently was seen on Battle of the Blades where he partnered with Marcy Hinzmann. Todd currently works as a Royal LePage reltor in Kelowna.

If you have a burning question you'd like to ask Todd, post it here. It could be about his time as a Flame, Battle of the Blades, or questions about buying a home in Kelowna...or anything else you want to know.

Ask him about his involvement in female hockey. I saw him on the recently with the 2001 Okanagan Allstars. Also how he finds coaching youth hockey after playing at such a high level.

A walk-through about his fight with Domi would be great. One of the special moments I remember about him. Ask him how it started, how he felt going into that fight, if he actually thought going into the fight if he believed he could hold his own, and ask him what Domi said to him right after the fight was over (seemed to have congratulated, or at least thanked Todd for the fight).

I would also love to hear how he felt being named captain at such a young age, and if he felt it was too much pressure at the time.

I actually always liked Todd. He played the game hard-nosed and with lots of effort. .

Do you know when that fight with Domi was, so I have a little more context, and so I can go back and rewatch it?

Ask him: in the Itchy and Scratchy CD ROM, is it possible to get out of the dungeon without using the wizards key?

According to hockeyfights.com, it was on October 16, 1998. I don't remember this for some reason, but it was Todd's 2nd fight of the night.

I would be interested in knowing his position on the 2004-2005 lockout.
