Coyotes to Change Franchise Name
The Phoenix Coyotes name will be changed to the Arizona coyotes for the start of the 14-15 season.

Why does this franchise continue to wallow in the desert?
Admit your mistakes and get them out of there! Florida is boardering on this territory as well.
Don't get me wrong there are places like SJ and TB that hockey is viable but Glendale is not one of them.
Its gonna take another 5 years and another failed ownership group for them to finally realize...
Florida might have a chance but I am not convinced about 'Arizona!'

Yeah, this was announced in the summer and was rumoured long before then. I guess if state tax money is being used, it makes sense that the team is representing the state and not just one city.
