Burke is on record saying Hartley and the coaching staff's jobs are safe till the end of the season.
There are some in the camp that are calling for Hartley's head.
Others are in the camp that he's the guy for the rebuild.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Call it satisfying a curiosity...
Let's say, for argument sake, that Hartley is (or isn't) shown the door. Who would be your guy?
A few NHL head coach names to throw out there are: (this isn't some elite list, it just a couple names...)
- Peter Laviolette (Last NHL head coaching job - Philadelphia Flyers)
- Tom Renney (Last NHL head coaching job - Edmonton Oilers)
- John Stevens (Last NHL head coaching job - Los Angeles Kings)
- Glen Gulutzan (Last NHL head coaching job - Dallas Stars)
- Ron Wilson (Last NHL head coaching job - Toronto Maple Leafs)
- Joe Sacco (Last NHL head coaching job - Colorado Avalanche)
- Guy Boucher (Last NHL head coaching job - Tampa Bay Lightning)
- Andy Murray (Last NHL head coaching job - St.Louis Blues)
Some are currently working with European, University/College, and Jr. hockey clubs. Some are currently working as assistant NHL coaches. Others aren't working at all.
There are a plethora of NHL assistant coaches, AHL coaches and Jr. coaches available as well.
Hartley is my pick going forward. Getting the most out of this team, and the young guys, outside of Baertschi, are really the ones doing the most these days. That says a lot to me about Hartley's ability to be a young player's coach.
As for your list, those guys are out of jobs for a reason. I would consider Murray and Laviolette, but I really doubt they would be an upgrade on Hartley and crew.
If he were more experienced as a coach I would say Gelinas.

Compare our rosters, and it's a pretty fair assumption that we are icing the worst team in the league. I love our future, but our 2012-2013 roster isn't one to brag about.
But they bust their ass every single night, and that's pure Hartley. Sprinkle this squad of ass-kickers with some more skill, and this kind of work ethic and team mentality is priceless. Watching these guys haul night in and night out is why I can look at teams like Buffalo and Edmonton (and hell, Montreal if you've watched them of late) and laugh at the mountains they have yet to climb.
By now, sitting near the bottom of the league you wouldn't blame players for losing faith. But they haven't.
I like Hartley, have no zero problem with him sticking around and he's gotten this roster a lot more wins than they have any business having. BUT if Burke see's fit to not have him here next year, I'd like to see Laviolette. He'll have a bit of a relationship with Burke both working with the US Olympic team again, smart coach with a hard working mentality.
So... Do you actually have a valid reason or just want to post red herring stuff that really doesn't add to the discussion.
Cool, the 1-3-1 didn't attack a puck carrier behind the net.
Ridiculous system that didn't actually help their defense at all. Boring awful playing style. No aggression or entertainment value. Once people figured him out they started losing a lot, so much so they got Drouin.
Do not want.
Is that good enough for you or do you want to continue attacking the poster and not the content?

Hartley. Cannot underestimate what he has done with this team this year. His message may get stale later on but he and his coaching staff deserve to continue on. Unless of course Mike Babcock magically becomes available.
