Default Habs reject trade offer from Avs: Bourque for Parenteau

http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Hockey/NHL.../21428516.html

The Habs turn this down? I would throw away Bourque in a second!

Thoughts?

I think you should check out the trade rumours and speculation thread.

You are not "in the now", but rather behind.

The Habs are crazier than I originally thought. Unless they were worried about the cap hit difference, which I don't think is too different, there's no way I would say no to that trade. Maybe the Habs are just being nice to Roy, giving him a mulligan on this one?

Bourque would absolutely get blasted with a hard-ass coach like Roy behind the bench. The non trade works out for both sides, as the Habs would have gotten smaller, and the Avs would have gotten perhaps the laziest player in the league.

While I agree it's probably a good idea for Montreal to trade Bourque... I think Montreal needs to make sure they are getting some size back in the deal since they are already a small team... Parenteau doesn't give them that

Bourque at 3.33M vs PA Parentau at 4.00 ....

seems like a lose -lose situation
