Default Recent experience with Baywest Homes or Calbridge?

Wife is pushing to move...taking a serious look at Baywest and Calbridge in our community. Talking with them both and they sing the same tune (shocking) on standard features, better trades etc. Pricing is pretty tight as well. Anyone have any recent experience, good or bad with either?

thanks!

You are correct in your assessment, they are quite similar in terms of size and product. One thing, Baywest is on its way to become employee-owned from I've heard. This should contribute positively to their attitude. Calbridge is a family–owned company.

Calbridge is a part of Thompson luxsury living and our family have zero good things to say about them.

Just moved into our first new built home, in Mahogany. We were between Calbridge and Baywest. Came down to salespeople (didn't like the Calbridge guy. At all.) and flexibility of options/ changes etc. Great experience with Baywest. And our house doesn't look like everyone elses'. PM me with any specific questions.

I suppose that does look a bit suspect, but I am not a Baywest employee, I am in Sales but work downtown.

Our build has not been perfect, we had a few issues throughout, but they were managed well by the team on site, eg. our wood railings we stained and lacquered before anyone check to see if they were in the right colour. We discussed the issues with the Mahogany team and it was quick resolved. We are currently working with the home warranty team as we have found a number of issues throughout the house since we moved in a month ago.

I would say no house build, remodel or renovation will ever be perfect, but it does matter how the team responsible deal with any issues that arise, and for us that really matter.

It was my first post as search for hockey and Mahogany and the post came up and thought I would put in my two cents.

Let's hope the Flames can beat the Jets tonight, not looking good just now.

as a long time trades person who deals with the home owner direct after occupancy Baywest is one of Calgary's best builders period.

I have never had a single Baywest homeowner go out of their way to tarnish Baywest or employees of Baywest.

Not at all am i suggesting that they are perfect but the effort seems to be there.

Calbridge builds a nice home only difference being I always did work before occupancy so never received any kind of feedback

Ive seen the product and Baywest wins every time

seemingly fewer deficiencies

happier trades...Baywest is loyal to good trades and vice versa.
