Letter from Daryl Katz to Oilers Fans

He is consistently chosen, year after year, to play a leadership role with Hockey Canada. But when it comes down to it, this is Craig MacTavish’s team. He is the GM. He makes the calls, and he is accountable for building a team that can compete for the Stanley Cup -- year in and year out for years to come.

That right there would drive me absolutely bonkers as an Oilers fan. ONLY year 4? Meaning this is acceptable for year 4? Highly unlikely. If the Flames aren't at least competitive for a playoff spot in 3 more seasons I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

I love that they are keep playing the only year 4 of a rebuild card. Especially since it started with the Taylor Hall pick, so they finished last before the rebuild started.
Top 10 picks in 6 of the last 7 seasons and they will be making that 7 of the last 8 seasons this year.
Not sure how you can miss the playoffs 8 straight years, get a top 10 pick in 7 of those 8 seasons, and say that this is only year 4 of a rebuild.
