Just curious if any of you know the answer to this. I don't have full time custody of my kids, so they aren't a dependent for tax purposes. Part of my agreement though is that I pay for all Extra-Curricular Activities. Even though they aren't dependents, can I claim the Sports and Culture tax credits for each child since I am the one paying for that?
I know when I was in school, my mom had initially paid for some lessons for my daughter, and I wasn't able to claim it, even though I had paid her back.
