Sabres win in the SO, and inch closer to the Flames; Ryan Miller with an awesome save late in the 3rd to give the Sabres a chance to win

Dallas up 2-0 on the Islanders after the first period. Gonchar finally gets his first goal of the season. Seguin left the ice after taking a hit in the dying minutes of the first favoring his right mid area (ribs?).

The Rangers are up 2-0 early in the first period. Carcillo and Nash have the goals 28 seconds apart.

Glad the Sabres won. Awesome for us. Need the Oilers to stay up on Chicago and the Islanders to squeeze a point out of their game. Islanders down 2-1 now.
In the Buff game, looking at the stat line Konopka played 12 minutes. Even +/-. Went 11-6 on faceoffs. Looks like he is working out so far for them.

The Sabres have really starting playing well over the last month or so (5-3-2 over their last 10 games is pretty good for a team in last place). I wouldn't be too surprised to see them catch us by the end of February...although this pace seems a little too good to be true.

The Sabres have been a different team under Nolan. I think sending some of the kids down who weren't ready was a really gutsy, but necessary move. It will be interesting to watch the new GM work too. The thing with them though is that they are virtually guaranteed to be moving their leading scorer, Moulson. I hope they wait to do it until the deadline as opposed to before, because I think they will be worse afterwards.

Pretty funny watching Saad walk around Justin Schultz, possibly some of the worst defending you'll ever see. Gives the guy the slot.

Kevin Quinn was raised from the dead when the Hawks scored on thier own net. Came to with a shriek.
Now he died again.

I love how SN makes no fuss or comments about it possibly being Dubynk's goal.
12 years of this crap? If it was on TSN that would be the talking point right now.

Tavares scores with 1:24 left and the Isles take a 3-2 lead.
Man, Dallas absolutely crumbles in the 3rd...
