Russia the far better team in the first. Sweden lucky to have the lead. A weak call followed by a Russian puck-out set up the goal.

On a side note I think it's strange how Canadian fans can be allowed to reserve so many tickets to a game Canada isn't in. Seems to be more Canada fans than Swedish fans in the arena. Kind of a mood killer.

Edit: That said, the Canadian hockey interest is impressive to see

Well, they did do the "Go Sweden Go"-chant, so I don't mind!

I'm also going to buy Oscar Dansk some flowers.

Just guessing but I am assuming that most of the Canadians there only bought tickets to this game because they weren't sure if Canada was playing in the first semifinal game or the second.

pretty good game thus far...so unusual to see a Russian team completely outwork their opposition rather than just outskilling them...but this club has it going good right now and are very unlucky to be trailing.

Should be a tremendous 3rd period.

The reason for all the Canadian fans every game is that with most international tournaments the tickets are sold before hand in large packages. I'm assuming those fans bought the full package that would include the full medal round.

Well.. the Sweden goalie is a teammate of McDavid so perhaps he'll have some tips if that ends up as the Gold medal match-up.

Russians being poor losers again.

Edit: more just kids being kids and terrible decision by the Swede who came out of the penalty box.

Oh well, it wasn't the prettiest of wins, but still a win.

Ohh... Swede guy comes out to the box to join the scrum.... have to think he'll be suspended. Also appeared to be lucky that the Russian guy didn't get a chance to tee off on him as he was man handling him once he knew what was going on.

It's so stupid. Especially in a semi-final when you know you're going to miss the final for doing it.
