With Monahan. Colborne, Backlund on the roster and Knight and potentially Granlund ont he farm hard to see a spot that Kadri would fit for the price that they are likely going to be asking.
I imagine they would want a defenseman of similar age/ability back and outside of Brodie who should go nowhere we don't have that available.

This is a case of let him go somewhere else and play. Calgary shouldn't be the destination for Kadri. Like Moon just posted. The Flames enough centers trying to break into the league without another one coming in and creating a log jam. Stajan needs to move soon too.

You can never have enough centers.
Granlund, Knight, Jankowski, Backlund have all played wing at various points in their careers.
If you can get Kadri at a good cost you make that trade.

Not a big Kadri guy. If the Leafs don't want their highest skilled center anymore, that should tell you all you need to know about him. Stay away. You don't win with me-first players.

I agree especially since Kadri is an upgrade at C over everyone (except Monahan going forward). I think Jankowski is too far away to come into consideration for this deal.
I just don't think you are going to get him at a good cost.
I saw Kadri play last year against the Senators. He was dominant in a way that no Calgary Centre has been in a very long time. Me-first or not, it would be a good idea to make him a Flame.

I know he has some upside, but do we really want him in our locker-room? Sounds like he's a cancer from all accounts, and there has to be a reason the Leafs so desperately want to get rid of a guy who scored 44 points in 48 games last year. Maybe it's an issue with Carlyle, but I'd still tread lightly with potential cancers like Kadri and Kane.
He doesn't even know what the word complacency means, even though he exemplifies it.

While not my favorite type of player (seems soft, and maybe a bit selfish), he is highly skilled and young....and a center.
I'd be pretty happy if the Flames acquired him depending on the cost, but hopefully Burke would find a way to bend his protoge over in any dealings with TO.
Backlund + Wideman for Kadri + Liles. The Leafs get a pretty decent upgrade on D and get a young defensive center who could thrive under Carlyle. Flames get a player with higher potential in Kadri and a cap dump which the Flames could keep or use a compliance buyout on in the summer
What is also strange is that the T.O hype machine isn't even engaged in trying to drive up the price on Kadri.
Just wait until Dreger has his say on the matter, he'll do whatever it takes to make it sound like there is no credence to these rumors yet still say that it will take a great deal to pick up Kadri.
