Flames related Christmas wish list
For Christmas I wish for:
Monahan to score 20 this year
Baertschi to make a triumphant return
Butler to be traded
An extra first round draft pick from whomever (cammy/Stempniak etc)
For us to draft ekblad
I would be totally satisfied with the season if all these things happened

That sounds good to me. I'm especially wishing for baertschi to rip up the AHL for a few weeks and then rejoins the flames on a line with Monahan and hudler again to be a point-per-game player.

Cammy for a 1st.
Monahan to end the season with 50-60 points.
Baertschi to light up the AHL for he rest of the year, making a triumphant return as a full timer next year.
Burke to hire a GM that won't be just a Yes-man puppet.
Calgary to draft either Ekblad or Dal Colle.

Oh I'll also add Backlund to keep tearing it up and NOT get traded.
Also Baertschi to NOT get traded (but I guess that is implicit with my triumphant return comment)

To the tune of "The 12 days of Christmas":
12 draft picks
11 roster rookies
10 for saluting
9 Oilers crying
8 Nucks a' diving
7 Flames a' scoring
6 solid D
5 Stanley Cup rings
4 rolling lines
3 blocked shots
2 for roughing
a goal by Sven Baertschi
Yeah, lame. I know. Feel free to make your own contributions.

That's what I was going to wish for.
Berra and Baertschi go the Olympics and Switzerland gets at least one win over one of the "powerhouse" nations. Hudler and Smid also go to the Olympics.
Trade all the pending UFAs except for Russell and maybe Berra (let him go if anyone offers anything of value).
Stockpile draft picks, and if the Flames don't get a top 2 pick on their own, Burke works the same magic that he used to draft Pronger and Sedin, to get Ekblad.
Baertschi and Backlund are not traded and end the season with the Flames.
Gaudreau and Gillies are both finalists for the Hobey Baker, with Johnny winning it.
Boston College loses early in the NCAA tournament and Gaudreau and Arnold sign immediately with the Flames. The Gaudreau - Monahan - Baertschi line lights up the Jets in the final home game after Gaudreau accepts the Hobey Baker via satellite before the game.
Providence wins the Frozen Four. Gillies is named tournament MVP, signs with the Flames immediately afterwards, and joins the Heat for the playoffs (as do Sven, Gaudreau, and Arnold). Gillies takes over the starter's job in Abby during the playoffs and leads the Heat to the Calder Cup.

Christmas wishlist:
- Baertchi finishes the year on a high note, and looks ready for top6 NHL time by September
- flames have their own 2 picks in the first 2 rounds, hoping they can get 1 more first rounder, and ideally 2 x 2nd rounders by the deadline
- hope burke can stay patient
i've been super nice this year so my last longterm wish:
- the flames don't rush their prospects next year, and fill their roster with more guys like stajan, russel, stempniak (ie. players who can play here short term, and have an opportunity to become part of the medium-long term, or be assets to move at the deadline). This should result in a high lottery pick, we win the lottery, and connor mcdavid becomes the face of the franchise and bus driver to a few championship teams

My Flames Christmas wishlist:
- Monahan to be a Calder finalist.
- Draft Dal Colle (because we're not going to get Reinhart or Ekblad).
- Strong second half of the season for Sven.
- Knight comes up after the trade deadline and never come back to Abby.
- For our new GM to beef up our defense.
- For Ferland to hopefully recover from his injury and return to the form he was in before it.

I wish for the entire hockey world to know that the Flames are already ahead of the Oilers in their respective rebuilds.
